Prof. Dr. Mustafa Yüksel


He was born in Ankara in 1953. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1977. in 1983, he received his residency in Thoracic Cardiovascular surgery from Ankara Atatürk Chest Diseases and Thoracic Surgery Center.

He worked as assistant chief at Heybeliada Chest Diseases and Thoracic Surgery Center until 1990, Dr. Yüksel founded the Department of Thoracic Surgery at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine in 1991 as an Assistant Professor at Marmara University. in 1991-1992, he was a Doctor at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London for 1 year. He studied under the supervision of Peter Goldstraw.
 
He became an associate professor in 1994 and a professor in 1999. He has published numerous articles and edited books (Mainly, Thoracic Surgery, Esophageal Diseases and Their Treatment, Pediatric Thoracic Surgery, Thoracic Traumas, Thoracic Surgery Red Book 2. Print) found Prof. Dr. Mustafa Yüksel retired as the head of the Department of Thoracic Surgery at Marmara University in 2019, and is currently T.C. He works as a “Lecturer” at Demiroğlu Bilim University Faculty of Medicine Thoracic Surgery Clinic. He was the President of the Turkish Thoracic Surgery Association for a period of time.
 
in 2009, he founded the Chest Wall International Group (CWIG) association with 450 members from 52 countries and served as its president for the first two terms. He is the chairman of the Chest Wall International Group (CWIG) Past President and Honorary Members Committee. He is the founder and president of the Turkish Pectus Association. in 2019, he founded and runs “Pectus Clinic” in Istanbul.
 
He is married and has 2 children.
