Military Obligation

There is no harm in fulfilling the military obligations of our patients diagnosed with Shoemaker's Breast and Pigeon Breast, in which we have placed a bar by performing Nuss or Abramson surgery.

However, the military service of patients with pectus surgery with a bar inserted is postponed until the bar is removed by postponing the referral 2 times after the decision on military service is made. Twice, after a one-year postponement decision was made, 3. if the bar of the year has not yet been removed, it is offered to be drafted and remove the bar after the recruit union. The general preference of the TAF is to enlist after the removal of the bar.

For this reason, we recommend NUSS and ABRAMSON surgeries to our pectus deformity patients who want to do their military service on time, either before the age of 18 or after they have done their military service.

Enlisted pectus patients can have Nuss and Abramson surgeries performed at our center by receiving referrals from their troops. However, a total of 1.5 (one and a half) months of the time spent in the hospital and reported are counted from the duration of military service.Sincerely yours
